Rochester Rehabilitation Joins Ability Partners, Inc.
CP Rochester and Happiness House welcome new agency into their partnership
Rochester, NY (April 4, 2016) One year after the executive staffing agreement took effect, Rochester Rehabilitation has officially become an affiliate agency of Ability Partners, Inc. Incorporated in December 2014; Ability Partners, Inc. is the passive parent corporation which includes CP Rochester in Monroe County and Happiness House in Ontario County. With the inclusion of Rochester Rehabilitation, Ability Partners, Inc. now grows to three partner agencies, each operating as separate subsidiaries. Combined, the agencies employ over 700 clinical, professional, paraprofessional, and administrative individuals who live in the areas where they serve. Mirrored board of directors members from all three agencies comprise the leadership and provide oversight to achieve common goals.
“Over the past year, Rochester Rehabilitation dramatically increased collaboration and substantial benefits on all levels thanks to the executive staffing agreement with Happiness House and CP Rochester,” said Mary Walsh Boatfield, President/CEO of all three agencies. “By officially joining forces under our passive parent corporation, our three agencies will develop even greater efficiencies which will benefit thousands of people with and without disabilities and those who are disadvantaged in the Finger Lakes and Greater Rochester regions.”
CP Rochester and Rochester Rehabilitation share another unique affiliation – both organizations are partner members of the Al Sigl Community of Agencies. Al Sigl is a collaborative community network that provides high-quality, cost-effective real estate and business services, while fostering community awareness and philanthropic support to a growing array of non-profit organizations that serve children and adults with disabilities and special needs.
Throughout Rochester Rehabilitation’s history, three values – work, wellness, and independence – have remained at its core. It has served the Rochester-area community since 1919 with an array of physical, mental health, and employment services. Rochester Rehabilitation has an outpatient mental health clinic, Ventures Personalized Recovery Oriented Services (PROS), and an extensive array of vocational programming services. Its DriveOn program is a driver evaluation and training service, while its OneSource Solutions operates three business ventures that employ more than 150 workers with and without disabilities.
“This is a new and exciting stage in Rochester Rehabilitation’s history,” said Thomas Kelly, Board Chair of Rochester Rehabilitation. “Our organization is becoming part of a growing presence in Western New York – one that will ensure success for its members and work together for the betterment of everyone we serve.”
In addition to the efforts of the Board of Directors and staff of all three agencies, assistance for this formal partnership came in the form of a $10,000 United Way of Greater Rochester Synergy Implementation Grant. The grant was used to cover expenses associated with Rochester Rehabilitation formalizing its relationship with Ability Partners, Inc.

Board of Directors. “As Ability Partners, Inc. expands in scope, so does our capability to enhance quality services of all three organizations, provide a larger operational platform, leverage resources, increase efficiencies, and enhance cost-effectiveness. Our partnership creates a continuum of the highest quality care to more than 6,600 individuals and families in our region.”
Rochester Rehabilitation, a partner member of the Al Sigl Community of Agencies, has served the Rochester area community since 1919 with an array of physical, mental health, and employment services. CP Rochester, also a partner member of the Al Sigl Community of Agencies, was established in 1946 and provides clinical, residential, educational, and personal support services to individuals with and without disabilities in the greater Monroe County region. Happiness House, an educational, residential, health and human service organization, has been serving communities in the Finger Lakes region since 1969.
